Hey Goober,
This is really fun. I have got to find all my old pictures from camp-in days so when I get a new printer I can download some here. What happened to all those pics you took and those workshop tapes we made. I remember Roy said they were really good! Is Jarvis still around? What about Bruce Satterswaite (spelling?), Nancy Green, George (can't remember his last name), Nora Reese, and there was a Carol (little girl with short hair) who took over Life Science after Nancy Green. I worked for her and we did a workshop on sound. Lucky
Hi Patti,
Thanks for telling me about this site. I have such wonderful warm memories of our crazy weekends at Camp-ins. Those early years were such fun even though we worked hard we sure laughed alot! Do you remember Willy Waldo Walrus II? I still have that stuffed walrus! Remember shaving
cream, parties, playing pranks on each other. Bill and Roy sure had a way of making things fun. Thanks for becoming the big sister I always wanted! I love you, goober! Lucky
Hi Pat! I am the PR manager for COSI, and I was wondering if you would be interested in doing an interview with the Columbus Dispatch about your camp-in experience? If you are will you please email me at knowinsky@mail.cosi.org and I can give you more information. Thank you!
Thanks for the clarification. I got it now. I am not sure about Friday night yet - but I do know that I do not want to really camp in - as you may recall, I liked camping at the Christopher Inn...and I have no need for a tadpole :) I probably still have mine from the 70's - stuffed somewhere. It will be good to see everyone.
Hi Pat,
Doug told me that you asked him to say, 'hi, to M&M,' when he took your reservation for the Saturday night thank you dinner that COSI is hosting to recognize Camp-In founders, directors, early agency representatives and stakeholders. There are also options of paying $15 to participate in an alumni event on Friday evening or paying $37 for a full Camp-In overnight experience (complete with a tadpole to take home and sleeping in your bag on the floor). The Friday evening and overnight experience is open to all campers, leaders and staff, who want to be on hand for the arrival of the 1m camper. Mike and I have signed up for Friday overnight and Saturday evening. We are sooooo pleased that you are coming to Ohio to be part of the 1m camper celebration!
More memories - "penering" the celery with peanut butter, the warming ovens blowing fuses the first year, sleeping in the planetarium, the parties at Put-in-Bay, and many more.
Never thought I’d be wondering how our connection with the climate talks in Copenhagen is doing! Yet here COSI is linked into one of the most reported, and some would say important, international activities of the year.
Today our Metro School students are “competing” with a select cluster of just six other science center student [...]
